Nonconforming Output Control Economic Prosperity Step 15 (ISO 9001 8.7)

This step prevents products and services that do not meet requirements (nonconforming outputs) from reaching customers or being used by mistake. As results, you receive nonconforming output handling criteria and a nonconforming output register.
It applies only to the Economic Prosperity track (based on ISO 9001). Under the standards of this track (ISO 9001 · IATF 16949 · ISO 13485 · ISO 19443 · ISO 22000 · ISO 21001), nonconforming outputs are identified and segregated so that they are not used or delivered unintentionally.
Handling such as rework, use under concession and disposal, together with approval and re-verification, is kept as records.
Corrective action to eliminate the cause, and nonconformities under other standards such as environmental and occupational health and safety, are dealt with in the Nonconformity and Corrective Action step.
Note: the number beside the title is the basis clause. HS is the Harmonized Structure (the common clause layout used across ISO standards).

Division of roles: eiso prepares the plan, forms and proposed document changes for this step. What you do on your own computers is identifying, segregating and handling nonconforming outputs (rework, use under concession, disposal). The records and results built up through this work are the basic data.
When operating, designate the Management System\Nonconforming Output Control folder (or files), and eiso will organize, aggregate, analyze and synthesize that material.
Material to designate: the nonconformity register, handling records. (Management System Operation Guide)
