Policy Establishment Economic Prosperity step 2 · Social Value step 2 (HS 5.1·5.2)

Compare the context of the organization, the business direction, the vision of top management and the policy requirements of the selected standards (editions) to establish a management policy for each standard and, if there are two or more standards, an integrated management policy. If an existing policy is in place, analyze the gap against the 2015 edition and propose a revision. Communicate the policy in three stages: declaration, training and monitoring. The Objective Setting step takes over the policy and uses it as the framework for objectives.

Next steps

Division of roles: eiso prepares the plan, forms and proposed document changes for this step. What you do on your own computer is reviewing, approving and signing the policy, posting, announcing and training on it, and checking understanding.
When you operate, designate the Management System\Policy Establishment folder (or file) and eiso organizes, compiles and analyzes that material and puts it together.
Material to designate: business plan and management philosophy, the existing policy (such as the 2015 edition), organization chart and process flow, management review decisions, records of policy posting and training.
